About the role

Are you graduating in 2025 or later and want to get some creative work experience in the Research & Insight team?The University of Manchester Students' Union is looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Social Media and Communications Assistant. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the online presence and communication strategies of one of the leading Students’ Union Research and Insight team in the country.

We are looking for a current student at the University of Manchester who will be responsible for contributing content relevant to the work of research and insight to improve and showcase its impact. Your creativity knows no bounds, and you have experience in producing engaging content across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and Blog posts. From captivating copywriting to eye-catching visuals, you understand how to tailor your content to resonate with different audiences, ensuring maximum impact.

You will work closely with our Research and Insight team as well as our Social Media and Communications team to create and implement innovative campaigns that captivate our targeted communities. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will enable you to craft compelling and concise messages that effectively convey our initiatives, results and impact of our work.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the creation of engaging multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and photography, to enhance our online presence. Wage: £12 per hour (plus holiday pay)

Contract: Zero Hours, Fixed-Term until 31st July 2025.

Hours: approximately 2 - 8 hours a week as set out by your line manager. You can expect periods of no work during the year.
