Social Media & Communications Coordinator

Are you a creative and tech-savvy social media enthusiast looking for an exciting new challenge? The Students' Union is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to join us and help us connect with our diverse student body through social media and digital communications. You'll be responsible for leading a team of student creatives to produce engaging and impactful content for a variety of social media platforms. You'll work closely with our Social Media & Communications Manager and other colleagues to develop and execute social media campaigns that drive engagement and growth.

One of the most important aspects of this role is staying up-to-date with the latest social media and digital communication trends. You'll need to have a strong understanding of emerging channels and best practices, as well as a keen eye for what makes content shareable and relatable. You'll also use analytics and reporting tools to measure the success of our social media activities and provide insights for continuous improvement.

As a Social Media Coordinator you'll have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and digital skills by supporting student content assistants, photographers and videographers to deliver compelling content. You'll be part of a team that's committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace, ensuring that all our social media activities are accessible to everyone.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a demonstrable portfolio of original, engaging, and impactful content for a variety of audiences across multiple social media platforms. You should also have a deep understanding of the principles of equality and diversity and a commitment to creating content that's inclusive and accessible.

Eligibility

Open to either current students at the University of Manchester who are due to graduate in July 2024 or those who graduated from UoM in 2023.

Salary: £23,320 per year

Contract: Fixed-Term 1 year, full-time contract (35 hours per week)
