About the role

As an Association Chair, you’ll bring students together and create a sense of belonging to a supportive, inclusive, and empowered community. The role will be varied. You’ll be responsible for devising and coordinating a year-round programme of activities, working with students and staff across the Union’s Student Engagement Directorate. You’ll seek to understand, celebrate, and empower a range of voices, fostering a sense of communality and bringing down barriers faced by trans students of different backgrounds and perspectives.

The Student Engagement Directorate provides opportunities for students to get involved and shape their university experience. Students who lead societies, create campaigns, volunteer or shape policies can gain experiences that can enhance their prospects. We want to reach our goal of making sure all students have what they need to do well and be happy at university.

The role will align most significantly with our ‘we are inclusive’ and ‘we are a community’ values. The impact that you have in this role could have a lasting legacy for University of Manchester students for years to come.
There is the option to work from home. There will be times where you’ll be expected to be in the office.
